What is 7oz cotton canvas used for?

Bag linings, sheer curtains and café panels, table linens, aprons, banners, display coverings, product packaging, and student-grade artist canvases.

Does 7oz canvas shrink?

Yes. Expect about 10–15% shrinkage. Pre-wash and air dry or tumble dry with no heat before cutting.

Is 7oz good for painting?

Yes—commonly used as a student-grade artist canvas after priming. As a lighter duck it won’t yield an ultra-smooth heavy-body surface; it’s best for smaller works, studies, and mixed media rather than large stretched canvases.

Is 7oz too sheer for curtains?

It’s perfect for sheer or layered drapery. For more opacity, add a lining or consider heavier weights like 10oz or #12 (12oz) duck.

Can you add FR or water-repellent finishes?

Yes—FR and water-repellent treatments are available upon request (lead times/minimums may apply).

Care instructions

Machine wash cold; tumble dry without heat or air dry. Wash darks separately. Expect softening and natural texture after laundering.
