Fabric Calculator
Estimate the fabric yardage, meterage, and material cost needed for curtains, upholstery panels, table linens, craft projects, and other textile work.
Quick guide
How to use the fabric calculator
Enter the finished size of one piece, choose how many matching pieces you need, then add the fabric roll width and any extra allowance. The estimate updates automatically as you type.
Finished width and length
Use the final size you want the item to be after cutting and sewing. Add hems, seams, pockets, or turnbacks into the measurement if you already know them.
Pattern repeat
If your fabric has a repeating design, enter the repeat size shown on the fabric specs. With pattern matching turned on, the calculator rounds each cut up to the next full repeat so designs can line up between panels.
Railroad fabric sideways
Use this when the fabric is turned sideways so the roll width runs across the project length. This is common for some upholstery, cushions, and wide panels where rotating the fabric reduces seams or changes how the pattern runs.
Extra allowance %
The allowance adds a cushion for trimming, squaring, shrinkage, mistakes, and pattern placement. Ten percent is a common starting point, but complex patterned fabrics may need more.
