A perennial favorite at Big Duck Canvas, waxed canvas has a water-repellent finish, and in Olive Drab color, you just can't go wrong.
Our 10 oz waxed canvas is a true multipurpose material; its tight, plied yarn weave construction makes it both strong and tear resistant. The refined wax finish offers a beautiful way to shed water.
Why is waxed canvas so popular? One reason is that it maintains its look with only minimal care. It's known to go a long time—years even—without having to be washed. Sewing? We hear great feedback ... "it sews great!" The wax used is high quality and won't transfer to other surfaces under normal use.

Waxed canvas, with its long lifespan and way it patinas and wears over time, is similar to leather. And like leather, normal handling will create 'craze marks' or wrinkles in the material. this is not only expected, it's part of the unique, highly-desirable properties of waxed canvas. These marks could be reduced with the heat from a hair dryer, though most prefer the 'worn' look and 'character' that develops with regular use.
