Looking for waxed canvas? You've come to the right place! We sell a ton of waxed like this beautiful Nutmeg (brown), and for good reason. Besides the obvious (discounted "by the yard" price with a low 10 yard minimum and mega-low wholesale full roll pricing), there are the unique benefits of a superior waxed canvas like this.
The finish makes it water repellent and helps increase the life of the canvas. It's a highly-durable, multipurpose canvas that's woven with a tight, plied yarn weave construction. This means you end up with a very strong material that is resistant to tearing. The refined wax finish helps it shed rain and moisture. Another benefit of waxed canvas is that it only requires a minimum of care to keep its appearance; washing typically isn't necessary. This wax formula is non-toxic and non-hazardous, and performs well in either hot or cold settings. And were regularly hear that "it sews great!" The wax is very high quality and will not transfer to other surfaces under normal use.
We see waxed canvas used to make so many projects including backpacks, work aprons, outdoor gear, tote bags, equestrian accessories, hats, vests, dog gear, dog beds... We don't actually know if there's a limit to the usefulness of this material!
Some say waxed canvas is similar to leather in the way it ages, patinas and lasts. With regular handling, you will see 'craze marks' or wrinkles. This is to be expected and is part of the highly-desirable characteristics of this material. These can be reduced with heat from a hair dryer, though most people prefer the 'worn' look, the 'character' that waxed canvas develops with over time.
NOTE: 10 yard minimum purchase on this wholesale product.
